One of the most frequently asked questions, but it's not a one-click fix.
Here is how box score and game log pages work in OOTP.
Each game simulated by OOTP has a game ID, and OOTP can create box scores and game logs for each game. The box score and game log files include the game ID in the name of the file.
Each season, OOTP re-uses game IDs, starting over from 1. If you are seeing box scores on a web site from a previous year, it's because the box score for the current year's game has not yet been uploaded.
There are three different ways to progress through simulations with games in OOTP, and when OOTP creates and uploads box scores differs depending on the method used, and the RTS Broadcast settings.
If you simulate games at any speed of real-time, OOTP will attempt to create and upload box scores of the simulated games if you've enabled that option. When running real-time sims, the RTS Broadcast Settings should look like below.
To get to the options:
Options dialog, note RTS Broadcast Status is set to ACTIVATED:
When the status is activated, OOTP will try to upload box scores (and game logs, if enabled) at the interval shown by "Broadcast every X seconds".
However, if the interval is too short, and OOTP can't finish uploading all of the box scores before the next interval, it gives up for the game day and does not try again. So if X is too small, you will get many games where box scores don't update.
POSSIBLE FIX: Increase X by a few seconds and try again to see if OOTP can keep up. If game logs are also enabled, try disabling game logs to see if that helps.
If you do not run real-time sims, the recommended method to get box scores to update daily is:
Advancing one day at a time is the only guaranteed method for OOTP to create box scores for all the games each day.
POSSIBLE FIX: If you use this method to simulate days and are still not seeing correct box scores during the sim, make sure RTS broadcast is activated, and wait for a few seconds after each day is simulated for OOTP to create the necessary files.
OOTP lets a commissioner simulate multiple days with close to one click with the automator, by enabling the checkbox shown in the following picture and clicking Execute:
This method is not reliable for creating box scores and game logs for each day. It may work sometimes, or it may never work. So this method is not recommended or supported if you want box scores and game logs to update during a sim.
After the sim is complete, if the commissioner uploads the OOTP HTML reports and enables box scores and game logs, when the process completes, all of the box scores will be the latest version.
