StatsPlus now supports a separate trade block, disconnected from OOTP, to allow GMs to list available players along with a short note.
Since the trade block is not connected to OOTP, adding a player to the block in OOTP will not add the player to the StatsPlus trade block, and adding a player to the block in StatsPlus will not show in game, and have no impact on player morale.
Q. What's the maximum length of a note?
A. 100 characters
Q. Is there any filtering on the notes?
A. A few emojis are filtered that are often considered offensive.
Q. How many players can be on the block for a team at one time?
A. This is an admin setting per league, the default is 20.
Q. How often can I push my trade block to Slack or Discord?
A. If enabled by the admin, you can post your trade block any time you add a new player, or after a cooling off period set by the admin. The default cooling off period is 3 days.
Q. Are players automatically removed from the block when traded in game?
A. Yes. Players are on the block as part of an organization, and if the org changes or the player becomes a free agent, the player will be automatically removed when StatsPlus data is updated.
Q. How long do players stay on the trade block?
A. There's an admin setting for the maximum number of game months a player will stay on the block. At each StatsPlus update, if that number of months has elapsed since the player was added to the block, they will be automatically removed. Players can be re-added after this.
There are two ways to add players to the trade block.
The fastest method is from the player popup. If you click on the name of a player to bring up the player popup, there will be a "Block +/-" option to quickly add or remove a player from the trade block. Adding from the popup doesn't allow adding or editing an associated note.
Players can also add to the block by visiting a player page, and using the "Block +" option near the top of the page. Example:
After hitting "Block +", a popup will appear where you can add a short note of up to 100 characters. You can save the note for yourself without adding the player to the trade block, and the note will stick with the player for some time.
To add the player to the trade block, just choose "Add to Block".
To remove a player from the trade block, use the same button, which will be labeled "Block -" if a player is already listed as on the block.
Choose "Trade Block" from the League menu to view all the players on the StatsPlus trade block. The trade block view is similar to the StatsPlus free agent view, and allows filtering players based on ratings, stats, position, team, age, etc.
For players in your org on the block, there is an Edit icon for editing a note attached to a player, or quickly removing a player from the Trade Block. Example:
The default view shows players along with their team, level, current season salary, years remaining under signed contracts, and the note from the GM.
Note that the boxes at the top of each view provide powerful filtering options, use "Filter Help" to for usage instructions.
Note at the top of the Trade Block page, there is a "Post My Trade Block" option if a trade block channel has been set up by the commissioner in Slack or Discord. This will post all the players currently on your team's trade block in one formmated post, with links directly to the player pages on StatsPlus. Example:
In an attempt to prevent spamming the channel, you can post the block every time a new player is added, or after a cooling off period set by the StatsPlus league admin, which defaults to three days.
The trade block must be enabled by a StatsPlus league admin on the Admin->General Settings page. There are several configurable options related to how the block works for the league. Settings look like:
Note that when the Trade Block is enabled, the admin must agree to be responsible for the content of the notes posted along with the players, to try and prevent offensive content.
In order to enable posting of trade blocks to Slack or Discord, the admin must first enable the feature, and then choose a channel for the posts on the Slack or Discord settings. Example of choosing the Slack channel:
When logged in as an admin, you will see the "Block +" or "Block -" button on every player page, which will allow you to change the player's trade block status, and update the assoicated note if needed. When you are editing in admin only mode, or another team's player as an admin, there will be a warning on the dialog:
